John Shooter
A downloadable game for Windows
John Shooter is a fast-paced roguelike FPS where you fight to blast your way out of a hostile world. Target tactical weak spots where it hurts most, stack game-breaking stat pickups, and take on escalating trials to build absurd firepower and survive the gauntlet.
Currently available as a playable group prototype featuring our debut gunfighter, Billy the Quickhand, across two sandbox arenas.
Core Mechanics
Total Stat Evolution: Every single firearm stat can be modified. Stack upgrades across your run to push fire rate, projectile velocity, spread, reload speed, and raw damage past reasonable limits into game-breaking custom builds.
Tactical Weak-Point Targeting: Critical hits do far more than multiply damage—they trigger reactive battlefield consequences. Shoot off Robo Guy's arm cannon to detonate his blaster, stripping his ranged threat and turning his desperate suicide rush into a mobile explosive you can pop into surrounding mobs.
Trial POIs & Navigation: Track skyward light beams and your HUD compass to discover themed Trials—isolated combat encounters with scaling difficulty and unique threat compositions.
Map Shrines: Trigger fast, high-stakes skirmishes directly in the field:
Combat Shrines: Clear fast waves for immediate stat mod drops.
Elite Shrines: Face off against mini-bosses guarding high-tier rewards.
Healing Shrines: Recover vitality before taking on your next trial.
Playable Roster & Maps
Billy the Quickhand (Currently the sole playable character)
Lever-Action Rifle (Primary): High-caliber, lever-action precision built for landing critical shots.
Round Robin (Alt-Fire): Fan-fires a revolver, automatically snapping rounds directly to enemy weak points across your vision.
The Ammo Ping-Pong Loop: Billy's kit rewards continuous, aggressive accuracy. Lever-action headshots reload your Round Robin revolver; Round Robin kills immediately refund ammo back to your rifle. Flow between both to chain endless gunfire without ever touching a reload key.
Arenas
The Western: A dusty frontier landscape lined with natural chokepoints and elevated perches.
The Grid: A minimalist, high-contrast simulation space tuned for fluid movement, build stress-testing, and raw combat mechanics.
